The best things that happened to me in 2021
new: habits, experiences … things!
It’s 30–12–2021 and for most of us, it’s a time to write down and check our goals, habits, expectations and memorizing all wonderful moments.
TL;DR
Before years my friend told me his best things that happened to him I really have enjoyed listening, I was thought his experience, life-work balance, his genius, goal achievement…etc. came because he is just lucky! I didn’t imagine he was working on that!
Experience

- New challenge.
In January, I mounted a horse for the first time with no experience. I watched a few tutorials on YouTube to get the important safety tips, how you gain more control over the horse and how you can increase your centered balance… It was a fun and exciting experience!
I read about the benefits of hot stone massage, I have tried in February.
My brother suggested walking for fun without any particular destination. It was the end of August, and for a couple of hours we shared stories and memories😆.
- Back to Twitter.
In April, I decided to return to “tweeting” on Twitter for two reasons: being active on social media and staying connected.>> Bshayr_A29
- New workout.
I attended swimming lessons in May.
- New food recipe, restaurant and coffee shop.
Food food I’m a foody 🍯 🍞 🧀 🍤 🍟
October, I earned loyalty card points which enabled me to purchase in one of the food applications. I randomly selected a restaurant without even reading the reviews on it. The choice came to the Mexican restaurant “Mexika kitchen” 🌮 🌯. The restaurant is very near my house, but I never thought to order from it before! The size of Burritos after I added many additional ingredients and chose different flavors was incredible! Oh, it’s just so much goodness in the tortilla😍. The restaurant just happened to become one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in my city.
I enjoy working and studying in a coffee shop and finding the best environment in my town is very difficult! In July, my brother gave me a list of cafes where I went to three of this list. One of them has indoor and outdoor seating, which I can change the place to sit inside and then outside to enjoy the sunset ⛅️.
- New place.
January, I went with my grandfather to see the traditional mud houses that remind him of his childhoods. The design and ceilings of the rooms impressed me!
In December, I visited the International Coffee & Chocolate Exhibition; I ate chocolate and had plenty of tea and coffee ❤️.
Habit

- Morning activity.
I changed my workout time to be early morning. I found myself more committed to my fitness and more productive during the day.
I decided to solve one question per week of Codility to awaken my brain before I go to work. <I should probably do it again.😄.>
- New reading list.
I don’t read enough for many reasons like time, interest, resources…and so forth. Thus, I divided my reading subjects into three categories: related to my work, the general books and Arabic. I asked my friend for his reading resources as well 💯.
- Meditation.
My friend noticed that I often get nervous and my mind has been having a freaking! it’s been a festival of anxiety and overthinking; she is advised me to do meditation. After doing this I always feel more cleansed and more clear. Since then, I have added Apple Fitness+ meditation into my routine.
- New eating plate.
At the end of last year, I took a blood test to diagnose a deficiency of some vitamins. Most of these vitamins were found to be deficient. I balanced my food so I can keep up with the healthy plate. I retaken the test in July, the result has improved even better 😍!
Career
- New: job, role and company.
I worked as a Cloud Application Engineer and the primary responsibility was to implement several features and address business needs. I like to try something new in my job and yeah thanks to my manager, he always gave me this opportunity 🤓. For example, I worked in close collaboration with the infrastructure team…I loved their work! However, the limitations of my role made it very important to prepare for change by learning the role I wanted. In March, I changed my career to become a Site Reliability Engineer in a new company.
- First product.
In June, I began to work on my own first product with my friend to enhance and develop my software engineering skills.
Friendship
I made a lot of new friends and they helped me in a number of ways…Thanks friends 💚

There are many things I enjoyed, learned and tried to do this year. To be honest, I wrote this post because I felt guilty about not doing some of the things I had planned.😢. But after I wrote and recalled some of the best things that happened to me, I just said WOW! ~ self-compassion is far more important than self-punishment ~
I’m sure you’ve done a lot of great stuff this year, share it with me!
